Healthy Cooking: Ginger Lemonade

With the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, eating in and cooking wholesome meals is not always the easiest or most convenient task to tackle.  Healthy dishes do not have to be complicated, time consuming, or expensive to make.  I hope my Healthy Cooking recipes will help you choose to cook and eat in more often. I found this recipe on Pinterest when I was looking for refreshing summer drinks. Not only is it thirst-quenching, but it's also a healthy detox. Apparently it also helps with maintaining a flat belly and having clear skin. I've only been drinking it for a couple of days, so the only thing I can account for is the detox.

You will need:
  • 2 liters of water
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp. freshly grated ginger
  • 10-12 spearmint leaves

Combine all ingredients in your favorite pitcher or caraffe, steep for a few hours or overnight, and enjoy this inexpensive and pleasant drink everyday.
